Menopause in the Workplace and Mental Health Webinar – May 2024
Menopause in the Workplace and Mental Health Webinar – May 2024
As part of Mental Health Awareness Month, it’s vital we acknowledge that the (peri)menopausal journey can present significant mental health challenges for women, especially in workplace.
May’s OMC Members’ Webinar on Thursday 23rd May was hosted by OMC’s Founder and Clinical Lead, Dr Laila Kaikavoosi, who covered the various aspects of (peri)menopause and mental health.
While many women are familiar with common menopausal symptoms such as hot flushes and night sweats, the potential impact on mental health is often underestimated. Symptoms like anxiety, low mood, poor concentration, and brain fog can emerge, catching women off guard, and impacting their health and performance at work.
In May’s Webinar we covered:
- Introduction to (peri)menopause and its impact on Mental Health in the workplace
- Understanding the causes of mood disorders during menopause
- Identifying and managing mental health symptoms in the workplace
- Exploring risk factors and proactive approaches
- Insights into HRT and its role in alleviating symptoms
- Alternative strategies for nurturing mental wellbeing during menopause
