OMC Menopause Cafe (mars 2023) - Ménopause et santé cardiaque

Before the menopause, women in general have a lower risk of being affected by coronary heart disease. But after (peri)menopause, their risk increases. With age, blood vessels become stiffer and this can result in high blood pressure where there is a risk factor for heart attacks and stroke.

March’s OMC Menopause Cafe on Fri 10 March 2-3pm was hosted by Dr Laila Kaikavoosi and Sarah Leroux, one of OMC’s menopause nurses, who covered the following aspects of (peri)menopause, our hormones and heart health:

The role of hormones in maintaining cardiovascular health

How (peri)menopause affects heart health Risk factors that can influence cardiovascular health

The role of HRT with heart health

How can we maintain cardiovascular health after the menopause

OMC’s Menopause Cafes are open and free to attend for all OMC Patients, friends and family but numbers are capped at 50
