OMC Menopause Cafe – Heart Health & (Peri)menopause – February 2025

Globally, cardiovascular diseases, particularly ischemic heart disease, are the leading cause of death among women. According to the World Health Organization, ischemic heart disease is responsible for 13% of total global deaths.

As women transition through menopause, the natural decline in oestrogen levels can significantly impact cardiovascular health. Oestrogen plays a protective role in heart health by promoting vasodilation and reducing oxidative stress. Its reduction during menopause is associated with increased risks of heart disease.

Hosted by OMC’s Founder and Lead Clinician, Dr Laila Kaikavoosi this Cafe covered the factors that play a significant role in heart health for (peri)menopausal women.

OMC’s Menopause Cafe is open and free to attend for all OMC Patients, friends, and family but numbers are limited so please register early to avoid disappointment.
